I don’t remember how I stumbled upon The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho but I’ve read it several times since then and plan on reading it again very soon. It will forever be my favorite book.

It is one of those books where it pulls you in and it’s really hard to put down. You can finish it in one sitting.

The book takes you on adventure to find your treasure and meaning in life. And without giving you too much information we realize the treasure is always closer than we think. You can pick up a copy by going here.

“And when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you achieve it” -Paulo Coelho

One of my favorite quotes is this one. I love it because it is so very true. When we want something God conspires to give us the desires of our heart. Yet sometimes we don’t fully go after what we want because we have so much fear. And then when things start shifting it gets uncomfortable so we end up staying right where we are.

It’s like the person about to drown who prays to God to save them. A little bit later a boat comes by and the person tells them no thank you, God is coming to save me. Then a little while later a helicopter comes and the person again tells them no thank you, God is coming to save me. After a long time the person ends up drowning. When they get to heaven they get angry at God and ask why didn’t He save them? God simply replies, I sent you a boat and a helicopter, you turned both of them away.

You have a vision for what you want in life, and when God starts shifting things to move you close to that vision, don’t run away just because it doesn’t align with how you visioned the process to be. Trust that things will always work out.

“There is only one thing that makes a dream impossible to achieve: the fear of failure” -Paulo Coelho

You can’t let the fear of failure stop you from going after your dreams. When you want something so bad trust that everything is conspiring to help you live that dream.

“The secret of life, though, is to fall seven times and get up eight times.” -Paulo Coelho

Anytime you stumble, get back up and keep going. The answers you are looking for are close than you think.
