I was one of the first people in my family and friends to get into personal development. I was tired of being miserable. I was tired of going out every weekend getting blackout drunk. I was tired of being unhappy. I was tired of being tired. So when I started investing in myself, my family and my friends didn’t really approve of what I was doing. I got called names, people talked a lot about me, and I lost connections with some of my “closest” friends. People considered my a lost cause because I wasn’t conforming to their beliefs and ways of life.

At first I took it so personal and even stopped working on myself. I didn’t want to lose those relationships. I was scared of being alone. I was scared of being judged and rejected. But I got to a point where I was unwilling to continue living the way I was living. So I went full force into making positive changes in my life.

I read all the books I could get my hands on and watched every video I could find.

And do you know what I discovered?

When you make changes the old HAS to fall away to make room for the new!

What you feel like is destruction is simply things being put into place for a new creation!

The steps you take to build a better future aren’t all rainbows and sunshine. There are going to be rocky paths, difficult times. And that’s why it is so important to have a support system. Surround yourself with people who want to see you doing good. I’ve created an amazing Facebook group where you can come to find that support! If you want to join go here!

I am so proud of you for taking that first step towards living a better life! You are a LIFE CHANGER! Be proud!

It sometimes takes you retracting from everyone you know while you make those changes. I once spent 3 years without hardly seeing any of my family because I was so committed to making changes. And when I did come back around I was so much stronger than before. And some of the people who used to judge me saw the transformation and were moved to change their life!

It is your journey, don’t be afraid to take it, even if it means walking alone in the beginning (but we are truly never alone, God is always there). Once you set out on a path you will soon meet others who are on the same path as you. You know what is best for your life, so listen to that inner guidance and follow where it leads you.
